"Palak Puri"

Ingredients
1 cups whole wheat flour (atta)
1 tablespoon ghee or oil
Oil (tel) for frying
200 grams spinach (palak)
Salt (namak) as per taste
How to make Palak Puri


  • Blanch the spinach leaves in boiling salted water.
  • Remove the spinach leaves and make into a paste.
  • Mix the palak paste in the atta, mix in salt, ghee or oil while kneading into semi-hard dough.
  • Keep the dough covered for about 10 minutes with a muslin cloth.
  • Divide into 16 equal sized balls and roll into disc shape.
  • Deep fry in hot oil.
  • Serve hot palak poori with dal or sabji.

MY KITCHEN

MASALA VADA PREPARATION:




Ingredients

 
1). 1 cup channa dal
 
2). 4 tbsp finely chopped onions
 
3). 5-6 finely chopped curry leaves
 
4). 1 tsp finely chopped ginger
 
5). 2-3 finely chopped green chillies
 
6). 1 tsp chopped coconut pieces
 
7). 2 tbsp chopped cilantro
 
8). salt to taste
 
9). oil for deep frying

How to make Masala Vada

1. Soak channa dal for 2-3 hours.

2. Drain the water completely.

3. First grind 2 tbsp dal to a fine paste without adding water.

4. Now add the remaining dal and grind coarsely.(for 5-6 seconds)

5. Now take dal, onion, curry leaves, ginger, green chillies, coconut pieces and cilantro. Mix everything till its well blended.

6. Make medium sized dumplings, flatten and deep fry in hot oil. You can fry 5-6 vadas at a time.

7. Serve hot.
